Library Instruction - Purpose
Library instruction is an important service that supports the teaching mission of the College and the research efforts of the individual library users.  To ensure the best possible library experience, all students should receive a minimum of one formal library instruction class.

Library instruction is conducted to support the curriculum of specific classes, the programs of academic departments, and to enable the self-sufficiency of library users.

Library instruction may range from library tours to the use of advanced research materials and techniques.

Emphasis is given to instruction techniques that best help patrons navigate the library and enhance information literacy skills.

In addition to improving the quality of student research, the library's goal is to promote life-long learning by teaching information literacy skills.
